Loubieh bi Zeit (Beans with Oil)

Green beans never tasted so good. This vegetable dish is stewed until the beans are tender and serves perfectly alongside any main dish or simply by itself with a side of pita.

Ingredients

  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 white onion
  • 1 lb green beans
  • 6 small tomatoes (ripe)
  • 1/2c water
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Chili flakes
  • Olive oil

1. Wash and dice onions and garlic.

2. Fry with some olive oil until onions are translucent.

3. Wash and trim beans l, cutting in half. Wash and dice tomatoes.

4. Add water, and simmer until beans are soft, adding additional water as needed.

5. Fry beans and tomatoes with onion and garlic.

6. Season with salt, pepper and chili flakes. Serve as a side or on its own with pita bread.
