Kafta Bil-Siniya
Kafta Bil-Siniya is simply delicious. It’s a perfect mix of kafta, potatoes and tomatoes in a tasty yet easy to create tomato sauce. Baked in the oven to bring it all together, this is a great Sunday dinner meal.
Ingredients
- 1 kilo lean ground beef (or lamb)
- 1-2 bunches of parsley
- 1 large onion
- 2-3 large potatoes
- 2-3 large tomatoes (or 5-6 medium)
- Tomato Juice
- Salt and pepper

1. Wash, dry, and finely chop parsley. Finely chop onions. Using your hands, mix parsley and onions with meat and add generously salt and pepper.

2. Shape meat into kafta patties and seer on both sides in oil.

3. Slice tomatoes and potatoes into pieces of similar thickness (approach 2cms).

4. Sauté potatoes until almost fully cooked.

5. Lay patties flat in baking dish.

6. Add layer potatoes on top of Kafka.

7. Add layer tomatoes on top of potatoes. Salt and pepper tomatoes and pour enough tomato juice to cover half of the kafta patties.

8. Cover in aluminum foil and bake in oven at 375 degrees for 30min.

9. Uncover, broil for 5-10 minutes, and enjoy!
