Adas (lentils and rice)
A simple lentil dish served warm with a refreshing tomato and onion salad on top. Ingredients Lentils
- 2 cups green lentils
- 1 cup rice
- 1 white onion
- 1 tsp seven spice
- 1 tsp all spice
- salt and pepper
Salad
- 1 large tomato
- 1 large white onion
- 4-5 squirts lemon juice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt and pepper

1.Soak rice in hot water. Replace water after ten minutes and soak an additional ten minutes.

2. Dice an onion and fry until translucent. Set aside.

3. Boil lentils until 3/4 cooked.

4. Add onions, lentils and rice all to the same pot. Season with spices. Add additional water until it covers the top of all the ingredients. Boil until all ingredients are tender. Add water as needed.

5. Dice one onion and one large tomato. Mix together and season with lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper.

6. Serve hot lentils underneath cold tomato and onion salad. Enjoy!
